Role Overview
The Junior IT Asset Manager is responsible for the operational management, control, and optimization of a large-scale IT asset portfolio comprising 4,500+ assets across hardware, software, and peripherals. The role ensures complete asset lifecycle governance—from procurement to disposal—while complying with Indian regulatory, audit, and organizational ITAM standards.
This position focuses on process adherence, data accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement, supporting cost optimization, risk mitigation, and audit readiness. The role works closely with IT operations, procurement, finance, security, and vendors to maintain asset integrity and transparency.
Experience
-
4–6 years of hands-on experience in IT Asset Management, IT Operations, or Infrastructure Support roles.

Proven experience managing large asset inventories (4,500+ assets) in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
IT Asset Lifecycle Management
-
Manage end-to-end IT asset lifecycle including procurement, tagging, deployment, movement, maintenance, renewal, and disposal.

Maintain accurate records for 4,500+ assets across multiple locations using ITAM tools and CMDB systems.

Ensure asset ownership, location, status, and configuration details are consistently updated.
ITAM Process & Governance

Execute and enforce IT Asset Management (ITAM) processes in line with organizational policies and Indian compliance requirements.

Ensure adherence to internal controls, SOPs, and ITIL-aligned asset management practices.

Support standardization of asset classification, naming conventions, and lifecycle workflows.
Compliance, Audit & Regulatory Support (India)
-
Ensure compliance with Indian statutory requirements, internal audits, and external audit expectations related to IT assets.

Support audits by providing asset reports, physical verification evidence, and reconciliation data.
-
Coordinate asset disposal in compliance with data security, environmental, and e‑waste regulations applicable in India.
Inventory Reconciliation & Physical Verification

Conduct periodic physical asset verification (PAV) and reconcile discrepancies between physical assets and system records.

Investigate asset variances, losses, or mismatches and recommend corrective actions.

Maintain audit trails and documentation for all asset movements.
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

Coordinate with OEMs, system integrators, service providers, and internal teams for asset delivery, warranty tracking, and replacements.

Work closely with Procurement and Finance teams for capitalization, depreciation, and cost tracking.

Act as the point of contact for IT asset‑related queries and escalations.
Reporting & Data Analysis

Prepare and maintain regular reports on asset inventory, utilization, aging, warranty, and compliance metrics.

Support cost optimization initiatives by identifying underutilized, obsolete, or surplus assets.

Assist senior asset managers in forecasting asset requirements and refresh cycles.
Risk Management & Data Security

Ensure assets comply with information security and data protection standards during usage and disposal.

Identify risks related to asset loss, non‑compliance, or lifecycle gaps and recommend mitigation measures.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
Required Skills
Technical & Functional Skills
-
Strong understanding of ITAM lifecycle processes, asset audits, and CMDB management.

Hands-on experience with ITAM tools, ServiceNow Asset Management, or similar platforms.

Working knowledge of hardware assets (laptops, desktops, servers, network devices) and basic software asset concepts.
Compliance & Process Skills

Familiarity with Indian audit practices, internal controls, and regulatory expectations related to IT assets.

Knowledge of e‑waste disposal procedures and secure data destruction practices.
Soft Skills

Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
