Purpose Statement:
The Technology Technician supports student achievement through ongoing support of classroom teachers and students with installation, maintenance, and support of technology hardware and software throughout the District.
Essential Functions:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot technology equipment at all District locations
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot software on District computers and/or servers
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot peripherals throughout the District
- Maintain/administer delegated portions of Active Directory Environment
- Maintain/administer delegated portions of Google for Education Environment
- Complete work orders in a timely fashion
- Follow written and oral directions
- Communicate with all members of the Technology Department
- Attend technology training and meetings as needed and/or directed
- Adhere to District and Department policies and procedures
- Support the values and mission of Jefferson City Public Schools
- Provide proactive technology recommendations to the Director of Technology
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology or other District Administrators which are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications of the position
Education/Certification Requirements:
Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience in the technology field
Experience
- General knowledge of Mac, Windows, iOS, and Google Chrome operating systems
- Experience with Active Directory
- Experience with Google for Education
- Ability to find answers to complex technology issues
Proficient in supporting various computer applications and software
Miscellaneous Requirements
- Ability to pass required background clearance, in which the results must be satisfactory to the District
- May require adjusting work schedule to complete tasks and/or work overtime
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work as a member of a diverse team
- Ability to learn complex technology systems quickly and effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing
- Requires stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting
- Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment
- Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
Travel between District locations is required
