Minimum:
  • Associate’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Journalism, English, or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience applying journalistic, communication, and/or publication principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with social media engagement, content management, online listening, and analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience using technology related to web design, social media platforms, and digital communications.


Preferred:
  • Proficiency in web development tools
  • Experience using graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience leading cross-functional or cross-divisional initiatives.

Position Overview

Primary Purpose of Position
The Specialist will help manage and update the CHHS college website; draft and publish news stories; create templates and content for the social media platforms; design graphics for web, print, and digital signage; and contribute to the production of newsletters. The position will also assist with gathering and organizing college photography, videography, and short-form multimedia creation to support marketing.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Dean’s Office provides leadership, oversight, and administrative coordination across the department’s academic, operational, and strategic initiatives. The unit is responsible for ensuring efficient daily operations, supporting faculty, staff, and students, and advancing key projects aligned with the department’s mission. Through effective administration, communication, and resource management, the Dean’s Office serves as a central hub supporting the department’s overall goals and activities.

Work Hours
20 to 30 hours per week; Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm
