Temporary Farm & Grounds Assistant (April 1 - June 30)

Temporary Farm & Grounds Assistant

(Seasonal Position: April 1 – June 30)
Clove Brook Farm – Salisbury Mills, NY

Clove Brook Farm, a small-scale farm in the Hudson Valley, is seeking one Temporary Full-Time Farm & Grounds Assistant to support our gardening team during a busy spring landscaping season.

This project-based seasonal position runs from April 1 through June 30 and will focus primarily on assisting our full-time gardeners with several large landscaping and property improvement projects across the farm. Because this role supports time-sensitive seasonal work, we are looking for someone who can commit to the full employment period and maintain consistent attendance throughout the project timeline.

The position involves hands-on outdoor work including planting, digging, weeding, moving materials, and helping maintain the farm’s grounds and infrastructure. Depending on weather conditions or operational needs, the employee may also be asked to assist with indoor tasks or other farm-related work as needed.

Compensation

$24 per hour. Additionally, the employee may be eligible for a $1,600 completion bonus, in the Farm’s sole discretion, to recognize reliable attendance, consistent working of the employee’s scheduled hours throughout the employment period, and consistent productivity.

Using more than the allotted paid time off or being unable to consistently work scheduled hours will result in ineligibility for the completion bonus. The Farm reserves the right to determine all aspects of such bonuses, including timing and amount. Completion bonuses are not guaranteed, are not part of the employee’s regular compensation package and may be modified or eliminated by the Farm at any time. To be eligible, the employee must be employed on the date the project is completed..

During this period, the employee will receive two paid sick days and two paid vacation days.

Because this is a temporary seasonal role supporting large landscaping projects, dependable attendance and consistent productivity are essential to keeping work on schedule. If attendance or productivity issues significantly impact the needs of the role, employment may be ended and the position filled by another candidate.

If employment ends before the completion of the employment period—whether due to resignation or termination—any remaining paid sick or vacation time will be forfeited and will not be paid out. Additionally, this will result in ineligibility for the completion bonus.
