Temporary Human Resources Clerk (Temporary Part-Time; Non- Exempt)

Job Summary:

The Temporary Human Resources Clerk supports the Human Resources Department by performing detail-oriented payroll data entry and providing general administrative assistance to help maintain efficient operations. This position is primarily data entry focused, with approximately 80% of the work involving accurate and timely input of payroll and employee information. Work is performed under the supervision of the Human Resources Director and does not have supervisory responsibilities.


Salary:

$17.00 per hour

Position does not include benefits


Schedule:

· · Expected start date: Training is anticipated to begin in early April, with the temporary assignment assumed around mid-April

· Duration: Approximately 3-month temporary assignment

· 20–25 hours per week between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday. Exact schedule is flexible within these hours and will be determined upon hire.


Essential Functions:

  • Perform payroll data entry accurately and in a timely manner (approximately 80% of position responsibilities)
  • Review, verify, and input payroll and employee data with a high level of accuracy
  • File and organize employee records (electronic and paper files)
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and payroll information
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department, which may include filing, copying, scanning, and reviewing documents
  • Assist with other clerical duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience performing high-volume data entry and keyboarding skills preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Working Environment and Physical Requirements:


  • Work will be performed indoors in an office setting.
  • Incumbent must maintain the following physical abilities
    • See well enough to operate equipment, read directions, inspect work performed, and to view a computer screen and fine print, sometimes for sustained periods of time
    • Hear well enough to converse on the phone or in person
    • Use hands and fingers for operating required equipment, for answering the phone, using computer keyboard, and writing and filing
    • Ability to operate a variety of equipment as required to perform essential functions of job
