Overview:
The Hamerman Lab at the Benaroya Research Institute is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Aide for a temporary, part-time position (20 hours/week) through August 31, 2026. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in a biomedical research environment. The Lab Aide plays a key role in maintaining an organized, clean, and efficient lab while assisting technical staff with routine tasks and basic experimental procedures under close supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Perform simple, routine, and repetitive laboratory tests and procedures as directed

Prepare laboratory media, reagents, and stock solutions

Rinse, organize, and prepare glassware for cleaning and reuse

Transport clean glassware to appropriate storage areas

Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly laboratory environment

Clean and perform basic maintenance on laboratory equipment

Monitor inventory and restock laboratory supplies as needed

Assist with experimental setup and basic lab tasks

Support lab personnel with general assistance duties

Perform clerical tasks such as labeling, data entry, or record-keeping as required
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated interest in science, biology, or laboratory work
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to follow instructions and work under close supervision
Basic communication and teamwork skills
Prior laboratory experience (academic or professional)
Coursework in biology, chemistry, or related scientific fields
Compensation:
$22.00 to $26.38 per hour
