Temporary Nanny – Bernardsville, NJ (August 2026–June 2027)

A warm and welcoming family in Bernardsville, NJ is seeking a nurturing, experienced nanny for a short-term position beginning in late August 2026 through June 2027. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with 35–40 guaranteed hours per week. The hourly rate starts at $28+ based on experience and will be paid via payroll. The family offers guaranteed hours, overtime pay, paid federal holidays, and sick leave.

The position focuses on caring for a newborn who will be approximately 3–4 months old at the start of the role. The family also has a 3-year-old who attends daycare full-time, and no regular care is required for him except in the event of illness or daycare closures. Both parents work remotely part of the week and value open communication, collaboration, and a nanny who genuinely enjoys working with infants.

Responsibilities include full care of the baby—feeding (bottles and eventually introducing solids), diapering, following an established sleep routine, and engaging in developmentally appropriate activities such as tummy time, sensory play, reading, singing, and interactive communication. The nanny will monitor developmental milestones, provide soothing and attentive care, wash and sterilize bottles, handle the baby’s laundry, and maintain organization in the nursery and baby-related areas. Support for the older sibling is only expected if he is home sick or daycare is closed. There are no household management duties or responsibilities unrelated to the children.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of paid nanny experience with strong infant expertise and experience caring for multiple children. A reliable personal vehicle is required for commuting (a car is not needed during working hours). The nanny must be dog-friendly, a non-smoker, legally authorized to work in the U.S., CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain), and up to date on COVID-19, TDAP, and flu vaccinations. Candidates should live within 30 minutes of Bernardsville, NJ and cannot live with or regularly interact with cats due to a family allergy.
