Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tender/Bid Manager to drive our participation in government EPC contracts for solar parks and large utility-scale solar projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying relevant government tenders, analyzing requirements, and preparing competitive bids to secure contracts. This is a strategic role, pivotal to the growth and success of our solar EPC business.
Key Responsibilities
- Project & Tender Identification
- Proactively track and identify new government solar project opportunities across portals and tender databases.
- Build a network with key stakeholders and government agencies to stay updated on upcoming projects.
- Tender Analysis & Feasibility
- Review and interpret tender documents (RFPs, RFQs), technical specifications, and commercial terms.
- Assess project feasibility in terms of compliance, risk, and profitability together with engineering and commercial teams.
- Bid Preparation & Submission
- Lead and coordinate the overall bid process involving cross-functional teams (design, procurement, finance, legal).
- Prepare and submit comprehensive technical and commercial proposals compliant with government requirements.
- Oversee documentation, compilation, and timely submission of all bid packages.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Liaise with government bodies, consultants, partners, and subcontractors to clarify requirements and secure supporting documents.
- Respond to queries, conduct pre-bid meetings, and ensure smooth communication throughout the process.
- Post-Bid Process
- Support negotiations, provide clarifications, and submit additional documentation as required post-submission.
- Analyze outcomes and feedback from tenders to optimize future bidding strategies.
- Market & Compliance Insight
- Monitor government policies, regulatory updates, and industry trends relevant to solar and renewable EPC projects.
Requirements
- Educational Qualification:
- B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or a relevant qualification in related engineering fields (e.g., Electronics, Power Systems, Renewable Energy Engineering).
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years proven experience in solar project bidding and tendering, specifically for government EPC contracts.
- Skills:
- In-depth understanding of government procurement procedures, tendering norms, and technical review of solar project documents.
- Strong analytical, communication, project management, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word), and familiarity with project/bid management tools and portals.
- Ability to coordinate diverse teams and deliver under strict deadlines.
- Desirable:
- Minimum 5 Year experience in winning large government solar EPC tenders.
- Postgraduate qualification (B.Tech/M.Tech or equivalent) will be an advantage.
