The Position

The City of Lake Oswego is searching for customer service-oriented individuals to help staff the Lake Oswego Indoor Tennis Center. Tennis Center Admin Support personnel are responsible for day-to-day duties of answering phones, greeting guests, snack and beverage sales, activity registration, and clerical tasks. These are on-call positions with a variable schedule of less than 20 hours per week.


The available work schedules are:

Monday - Thursday, 3:30 - 9:00 p.m., or

Friday - Sunday 5:30 - 10:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Open and close office; oversee building security while on duty.
  • Primary reception for Tennis Center guests and phone inquiries.
  • Assist customers with court reservations, program registration, snack and beverage sales, and facility questions as requested.
  • Communicate with other staff regarding questions and issues that arise.
  • Ensure guests are aware of and abide by all tennis center rules and policies.
  • Administrative support to instructors and Tennis Coordinator.
  • Perform cash, check, and credit card handling with 100% accuracy.
  • Update voice mail system as necessary; check and respond to messages.
  • Light custodial tasks as needed.
  • Minimum age 21, as an alcohol serving permit is required. The permit can be obtained after hire.

Education and Experience Requirements

Priority consideration is given to applicants with:

  • Front desk and experience with a participant registration software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, and in email.
  • Cash management experience.
  • Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public, handle stressful situations and work cooperatively with other employees.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make independent, safe, and professional decisions.
