CARE Pakistan invites proposals from experienced street theatre groups/firms to design and deliver community-based street theatre performances under the CRHR-BRAVE Project in Districts Sujawal and Badin (Sindh).

Background

The CRHR-BRAVE project aims to strengthen climate resilience, disaster preparedness, WASH practices, and community protection systems in climate-vulnerable districts of Pakistan through participatory and culturally appropriate approaches.

Objective of the Assignment

To plan, develop, and perform interactive street theatre shows that promote key messages on:

  • WASH and hygiene practices

  • Open Defecation Free (ODF) communities

  • Climate resilience and disaster preparedness

  • Community well-being and protection

Scope of Work

The selected theatre group will:

  • Develop culturally relevant, gender-responsive scripts in consultation with CARE

  • Conduct community visits for contextual understanding

  • Perform street theatre shows in selected villages of Sujawal and Badin as per agreed schedule

  • Engage communities during performances and reinforce key messages

  • Collect audience feedback and submit brief performance reports

Key Deliverables
  • Finalized street theatre scripts

  • Periodic street theatre performances in targeted villages

  • Performance and feedback reports

Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience in street theatre, preferably with international NGOs

  • Strong understanding of development and humanitarian themes

  • Availability of Sindhi-speaking male and female actors

  • Familiarity with local context of Sindh
