Role Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Field Test Engineer to join our robotics team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing field tests for ground robotics systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our autonomous robots operate reliably and efficiently in diverse environments. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in advancing ground robotics technologies.


Responsibilities


  • Plan and execute field tests for autonomous ground robots, ensuring test objectives are met.
  • Operate and maintain robotic systems in outdoor and varied environments, while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Collect, document, and analyze test data to identify performance issues, root causes, and improvements.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to debug and resolve system failures observed during testing.
  • Provide insights to improve robot functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Assist in the creation and refinement of test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot robotic sensors and mechanical components.
  • Participate in system integration and testing activities, contributing to software validation and hardware verification.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in autonomous robotics and integrate new insights into testing methodologies.


Requirements


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience working with autonomous or ground robotic systems, preferably in a field-testing capacity.
  • Hands-on experience with robotic platforms, sensors, and calibration.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis tools (e.g., ROS/ROS2<, Python).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and travel to various testing locations.
  • Prior experience with autonomous ground robotics systems.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and collaboration tools like Jira or Confluence.
