Toddler Teacher Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a caring and energetic Assistant Toddler Teacher to support the lead teacher in working with children ages 2–3 years old. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about early childhood education and committed to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. This position is perfect for someone who is developing their teaching career and enjoys working hands-on with young children.

Duties

• Support the Lead Teacher in daily classroom activities and routines.
• Assist with potty training, hygiene practices, and mealtime routines.
• Engage children in circle time, play-based learning, and outdoor activities.
• Help foster toddlers’ independence, confidence, and social-emotional skills.
• Ensure classroom cleanliness, safety, and organization.
• Provide individual attention to children and assist with developmental needs.
• Communicate positively with children, families, and staff.
• Step into leadership when the Lead Teacher is absent.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (CDA or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred).
• Previous childcare or classroom experience preferred.
• Understanding of toddler development and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to assist with potty training and classroom routines.
• CPR and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Compassion, patience, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
