Join our dynamic towing team as a Tow Company Dispatcher, where you'll be the vital link coordinating tow truck operations and ensuring smooth communication between drivers, clients, and service providers. - Nights (2p-10p PST)
- Weekends (9a-5p PST)
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch tow trucks efficiently using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, customers, and third-party logistics providers via multi-line phone systems, ensuring accurate information exchange.
- Monitor GPS tools to track fleet locations, optimize routing, and respond promptly to roadside emergencies or scheduled jobs.
- Enter data accurately into shipping & receiving logs, freight documentation, and dispatch records while maintaining high typing speed and attention to detail.
- Manage inbound and outbound freight requests, schedule pickups and drop-offs, and coordinate with supply chain partners to meet operational deadlines.
- Utilize analysis skills to assess transportation planning needs, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements for fleet management.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all dispatch activities, incident reports, and service logs in compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Experience
- Proven experience with tow management systems such as Tow Book or Dispatch Anywhere a plus.
- Strong knowledge of logistics operations and fleet management.
- Familiarity with GPS tracking tools, GIS software for route planning, and tow planning principles.
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette; ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently.
- Demonstrated analysis skills for data entry accuracy and operational troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior dispatching experience in the towing or transportation industry is highly preferred.
