Trademark Litigation Attorney (TTAB Focus) – Princeton, NJ (Hybrid Option)

Firm Overview:
DeFrancescoLaw is a boutique intellectual property firm based in Princeton, NJ, representing international clients in trademark and patent matters. We handle complex IP litigation and TTAB proceedings, and we’re expanding our practice with the addition of a full-time, experienced trademark attorney who can take ownership of cases and work closely with our founding partner.

About the Role

This position is ideal for an attorney who enjoys independence, variety, and direct client interaction. You’ll lead TTAB proceedings, assist in federal trademark litigation, and advise clients on brand protection and enforcement. The role offers hands-on experience, meaningful responsibility, and a clear path to growth within the firm.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all phases of TTAB proceedings, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and settlement negotiations.
• Oversee and support federal trademark litigation, including filings, discovery coordination, and local counsel management.
• Advise clients on enforcement strategy, risk assessment, and brand protection.
• Prepare and respond to Office Actions, cease and desist letters, and co-existence agreements.
• Participate in occasional travel for client meetings or hearings (under 25%).

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
• 6+ years of trademark law experience, with substantial TTAB and litigation background.
• Ability to manage complex IP matters independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with IP docketing, filings, and eDiscovery systems.
• Collegial and adaptable, with interest in helping a growing boutique firm expand.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary: $135,000 – $160,000 (commensurate with experience and client portfolio).
• Bonus potential based on performance and business development.
• Benefits package after introductory period (health insurance, PTO, CLE budget).
• Hybrid flexibility available after an initial in-office training period in Princeton.
• Candidates with existing clients or referral networks may be eligible for enhanced compensation or partial of-counsel structure.
