Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Transcribe audio and video recordings into clear, accurate written documents using specialized software and tools
• Edit and proofread transcripts to ensure grammatical correctness, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines such as the Chicago Manual of Style
• Maintain high levels of accuracy in capturing spoken words while preserving the original tone and context
• Review transcripts for errors, inconsistencies, or ambiguities, making necessary corrections promptly
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborate with clients or team members to clarify unclear content or resolve transcription issues
• Ensure all transcripts are properly formatted and organized for easy review and delivery

Requirements

• Proven experience in transcription, editing, or related writing roles with a strong portfolio of work
• Exceptional typing speed and accuracy, with a minimum of 70 words per minute preferred
• Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and style conventions
• Proficiency in transcription software and tools such as Express Scribe or similar platforms
• Strong proofreading skills with an eye for detail to catch errors or inconsistencies
• Knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style or similar style guides is highly desirable
• Ability to translate spoken language into well-structured written content when needed
• Solid writing skills with an aptitude for clear communication and precision
