Job Title: Transport Incharge
Department: Logistics
Reporting To: Logistics Manager
Job Summary:
The Transport Incharge is responsible for managing and coordinating all company transportation activities, including the scheduling, maintenance, and supervision of vehicles, drivers, and transport operations to ensure smooth, safe, and cost-effective movement of personnel, materials, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Management
- Maintain a complete record of company vehicles, including registration, insurance, and maintenance schedules.
- Plan and oversee routine and preventive maintenance to ensure all vehicles are in good working condition.
- Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, and vehicle running costs.
- Ensure timely renewal of vehicle documents (registration, insurance, permits, etc.).
- Transport Operations
- Plan and schedule daily vehicle deployment for site, staff, and material transport.
- Coordinate with site teams and departments for vehicle and driver requirements.
- Ensure efficient utilization of vehicles to minimize downtime and operational costs.
- Arrange transport for visitors, suppliers, or emergency requirements as needed.
- Driver Management
- Supervise and manage company drivers, ensuring discipline, punctuality, and adherence to safety rules.
- Maintain driver duty rosters, attendance, and performance records.
- Conduct periodic briefings on traffic safety, company policies, and vehicle care.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local transport laws, RTA regulations, and company HSE policies.
- Investigate and report any vehicle incidents, accidents, or violations.
- Implement and monitor safety procedures for loading/unloading and transportation.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain transport logs, fuel records, and service histories.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports on fleet utilization, costs, and maintenance status.
- Coordinate with accounts for transport-related expenses, fuel reimbursements, and repair bills.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in transport management (preferably in construction or contracting sector).
- Good knowledge of UAE traffic laws and RTA regulations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and fleet management software (if applicable).
- Valid UAE Driving License (Light / Heavy Vehicle preferred).
