Position Summary
The Transportation Coordinator supports the daily operational functions of the Transportation department by serving as a utility player across dispatch, backhaul, driver support, and administrative tasks. This role plays a critical part in ensuring communication flows smoothly, data is recorded accurately, and operations run efficiently—especially when covering or backing up other team members. The Transportation Coordinator will interact with internal departments, drivers, and customers, and is expected to demonstrate strong organizational skills, a service-oriented mindset, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Support & Communication
  • Respond to incoming transportation-related calls, providing timely and professional assistance to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Dispatch & Routing Support
  • Assist dispatch team in daily routing, coordination, and problem-solving.
  • Participate in Saturday rotation to complete Saturday billing and routing responsibilities.
  • Backhaul Coordination
  • Support the scheduling and coordination of backhaul loads, ensuring timely communication with relevant parties.
  • System & Data Management
  • Enter and maintain accurate driver and driver helper attendance.
  • Validate and update new customer location data, including latitude and longitude accuracy.
  • Maintain late load tracking file.
  • Administrative Support
  • Assist with clerical tasks and departmental organization, including potential involvement in payroll functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations and team continuity.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or relevant coursework preferred.
  • Previous experience in transportation, logistics, or warehouse operations strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including data entry accuracy and experience with business systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage shifting priorities effectively.
  • Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and team-focused.
