Job Title: Transportation Manager

Division: Supply Chain

Department: Plant and Transport


Role Purpose:

The Transportation Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational management of Al Bawani’s transportation functions. This role ensures the efficient movement of materials, equipment, and personnel while optimizing logistics processes, managing the transportation fleet, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Transportation Manager plays a critical role in supporting the company’s growth and operational excellence.


Job Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement transportation strategies aligned with organizational goals .
  • Optimize fleet utilization through advanced route planning and logistics solutions ·
  • Ensure timely and reliable delivery of materials and personnel to project sites ·
  • Collaborate with senior management to align transportation initiatives with business objectives.
  • Establish and manage the transportation unit's budget and financial performance.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures and revenue optimization strategies.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for transportation operations.
  • Analyze financial data to support decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Lead efforts to ensure compliance with transportation regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and enforce comprehensive safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct safety audits and training programs for transportation staff.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Drive initiatives for process enhancements and operational efficiencies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in transportation management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the transportation unit
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with project managers to understand transportation needs and requirements.
  • Engage with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality service delivery

Necessary Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in transportation management or logistics, with a focus on large-scale operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of fleet management, transportation regulations, and safety standards.
  • Proven track record in financial management, budgeting, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with advanced logistics software and data analytics tools.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills to drive strategic initiatives.


Education and Certification Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications (e.g., Certified Transportation Professional, Lean Six Sigma) are highly preferred.
