Travel & Ticketing Specialist
The Travel and Ticketing Consultant is responsible for coordinating and managing all travel-related services for university staff, faculty, and students. This includes booking flights, issuing tickets, arranging accommodation, ensuring cost-effective travel solutions, and providing support for study tours, conferences, seminars, exchange programs, and official delegations.
We are looking for a proactive, creative, and sales-driven Travel agent who also has experience in air ticketing and GDS systems (Amadeus preferably)
Key Responsibilities:
- Design exclusive tailor‑made travel itineraries and products (not just reselling partner programs).
- Issue air tickets using GDS (Amadeus) and manage bookings.
- Actively search for new clients (expats & Emiratis) and build relationships.
- Negotiate with partners to create unique travel packages.
- Bring ideas, develop products, and drive sales.
- Travel & Ticketing Services
- Handle domestic and international travel requests for staff, faculty, and students.
- Book and issue airline tickets using approved travel systems or through travel agency partnerships.
- Arrange hotel reservations, transportation, and visa assistance as required.
- Provide guidance on travel policies, routes, schedules, and cost-effective options.
- University Programs & Events Support
- Coordinate group travel for academic tours, student exchange programs, study abroad, conferences, and delegations.
- Ensure smooth logistics for invited guest speakers, visiting professors, and international participants.
- Policy Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all travel requests comply with the university’s travel policy and budget.
- Maintain accurate travel records, invoices, and reports for auditing and reimbursements.
- Prepare travel expense reports and assist with settlement of claims.
- Vendor & Airline Relations
- Liaise with airlines, hotels, and travel agencies to secure best rates and services.
- Negotiate corporate deals and discounts for the university.
- Customer Service & Support
- Provide 24/7 support during emergencies or changes in travel itineraries.
- Handle travel-related queries promptly and professionally.
Requirements:
- Experience in air ticketing and working with GDS (essential).
- Proven background in luxury travel/hospitality.
- Self‑starter, creative thinker, able to work without micromanagement.
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
- Passion for travel and excellent client service skills.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Travel & Tourism, or related field.
- Certification in IATA, Amadeus, Galileo, or other ticketing systems (preferred).
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in travel and ticketing, preferably in an academic or corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of airline reservations, ticketing systems, visa processes, and travel regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to handle multi-destination group travel arrangements.
