Travel Nanny & Early Childhood Educator (Bilingual Mandarin / English)

ABOUT OUR FAMILY

We are a multicultural Bay Area family seeking a warm, intellectually curious governess and early childhood educator to join us long-term as we explore the world with our three children under four.

We travel domestically every month and internationally several times a year, and we're looking for someone who thrives on discovery – someone who sees every new city, culture, and context as a classroom. A candidate with Montessori training and experience spanning both institutional and home-based education would be a natural fit, though we welcome a range of early childhood backgrounds. Native Mandarin and fluent English are required.

During extended trips (ranging from one week to several months), the position is live-in. When based in the Bay Area, both live-in and live-out arrangements are open for discussion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adapt learning to real-world contexts – local cultures, environments, and experiences become part of the curriculum.
  • Provide attentive, nurturing care that supports independence, emotional development, secure attachment, and healthy lifelong habits.
  • Coordinate closely with parents and other caregivers to ensure consistency of routines and communication.
  • Manage children's logistics: school and activity schedules, playdates, nutrition and meals, laundry, and toy and supply inventory.
  • Support family operations, including activity scheduling, shopping, meal planning, event coordination, and travel logistics.
