American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a PICU position requiring 2-3 years of experience with at least 1 year in PICU or Pediatric CVICU at a teaching hospital.

Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) unit at a teaching hospital
-
Neonatal/Pediatrics work settings including NICU and Pediatric Critical Care
-
Perform ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and high frequency jet/oscillator ventilation
-
Perform airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
-
Provide tracheostomy care and management
-
Administer medications including inhaled Nitric Oxide (iNO)
-
Interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
36 hours per week on a 3x12 hour schedule (no 4x12 option)
-
Rotating day (7:00-19:00) and night (19:00-7:00) shifts on a 50/50 basis based on department needs

Every other weekend required

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; CRT not accepted

Pending MA license acceptable

BLS required
-
PALS preferred
-
Minimum 2-3 years of respiratory therapy experience

At least 1 year of PICU or Pediatric CVICU experience required

Teaching hospital experience required

Epic charting system experience required
-
Experience with high frequency jet ventilator and oscillator preferred

Experience with Bubble CPAP preferred

License required if applicable

2 professional references required, verified from 2 of the last 3 places worked at different facilities

Provide respiratory therapy services to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
-
Work as part of a pediatric critical care team

First-time travelers will be considered
