Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of experience for a 13-week night shift position at an academic medical center in Ohio.

Details

  • Academic medical center setting with respiratory and neuro diagnostics unit
  • Work settings include Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
  • Weekend work is required
  • Floating between campuses may be required
  • GE ventilators used on unit
  • Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
  • Active OH State License required (license required if applicable)
  • Required certifications: BLS, RRT
  • Preferred certifications: ACLS, CRT
  • HS diploma and college diploma and/or transcripts required; education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Proficiency in ventilator management including troubleshooting high pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Proficiency in airway management and suctioning
  • Experience with a wide range of medication delivery systems and respiratory medications
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 from a manager, director, or formal leadership capacity; charge RN acceptable as 2nd reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

  • Prior travel experience is preferred but not required
  • Previous employees of this facility are eligible to apply once they have been away for 6 months or more; current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are not eligible
  • Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and will be built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Ohio fingerprinting is required upon signing the contract and must be completed urgently — candidates outside Ohio within driving distance will need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location; those at greater distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet with instructions from the Credentialing team
  • Multiple parking permit options are available for agency staff through CampusParc, ranging from on-site garage access to budget surface lot options with shuttle service to the medical center
