Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care experience for a night shift position at a community hospital, with Level III NICU experience strongly preferred.

Details

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00–06:00)
• Work settings include Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department
• Pediatric and nursery patient population experience preferred
• Level III NICU experience strongly preferred
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

Requirements

• RRT required; CRT will be accepted
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS certification required
• Valid RRT/CRT license required; license must be in hand prior to start
• Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, tracheostomy care, and nasal/oral airway placement
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Experience with nebulizer therapy, oxygen therapy, and sputum specimen collection
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• 2 supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Perform respiratory therapy services across adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Responsibilities include airway management, ventilator management, oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and sputum specimen collection
• The facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana; a positive result results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions — candidates should avoid any substances that could result in a positive test, including CBD products, prior to and upon arrival
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration
• Required lab items must be completed within 72 hours of accepting an offer, or a completion plan must be in place within that timeframe
