American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 2 years of acute care ED experience, an active IL RN license, and mandatory float flexibility across Cook County facilities.

Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Every other weekend required (approximately 2 weekends per month)

This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float to any Cook County facility at the facility's discretion, up to 50 miles from the home facility

Float assignments may be outside of the clinician's primary area of competency; a team-based care model is used in those cases
-
Float notification may be given as little as 2 hours before a shift

Charting is performed in Cerner

Paid parking is available in an adjacent garage (~2-3 min walk to the hospital entrance) for $5 per entry

Active Illinois (IL) RN license currently in hand — pending licensure is not accepted

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS required; PALS preferred

Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in an Emergency Department setting

Must reside within 75 miles of the facility

Provide emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ED environment

COVID vaccination (initial series) is required — no exceptions; booster is not required
-
RTO is capped at 5 days per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
-
RTO on weekends will not be approved
-
No RTO on holidays, or the day before or after a holiday
-
No block scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accommodated
-
Navy blue scrubs are required and are not provided by the facility

Local candidates are accepted and preferred
