Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level I Trauma acute care hospital, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and an active IN or Compact RN license.

Details

• Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Short-term acute care hospital setting with a 21-room OR suite averaging 70–80 cases daily
• OR Core specialties include general surgery, plastics, GYN, ENT, trauma, neuro, ortho, GU, colorectal, and robotics
• Travelers are expected to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed; CV and transplant are excluded from floating expectations
• Circulatory skills required; scrub skills preferred
• Charting is performed in Cerner; experience is required
• On-call is required, averaging approximately 6 call shifts per 6-week period (subject to variation)
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Holiday coverage required — candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• No block scheduling

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)
• Minimum 2–3 years of OR RN experience required
• Level I Trauma OR experience required (minimum 2 years, or at least 1 year Level I trauma with additional OR experience)
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Graduation from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE required
• Well-rounded OR skills across multiple specialties required
