Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU/IMCU) position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience in a similar-sized facility and proficiency managing cardiac drips.

Details

  • 28-bed PCU/IMCU unit within a large, high-volume, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
  • Cardiac patient population including STEMI, NSTEMI, CTS, and chest pain cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:3–4
  • Experience with cardiac drips required, including Milrinone, Dobutamine, and Pressors
  • May be assigned to telemetry beds within the same unit for lower-acuity patients
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active RN license — GA license or Compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of PCU or IMCU experience in a similarly sized, high-volume facility
  • Proven experience in high-pressure, large-scale trauma or high-acuity environments
  • Background in managing complex, fast-paced, high-volume patient populations with diverse and severe cases

Additional Information

  • This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
  • Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
  • Block scheduling is generally not approved
  • Local candidates are accepted for this position
