Treasury Accountant (9 month Fixed-term Contract)

Summary: The Treasury Accountant (Back Office) is responsible for ensuring the accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of all treasury transactions. This role supports the front office treasury team by handling confirmations, settlements, bank reconciliations, cashflow reporting, and maintaining proper controls to safeguard company funds and financial integrity.

Please note that this role is a 9-month maternity leave cover.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process and record all treasury-related transactions including payments, fund transfers, deposits, loans, FX deals, and intercompany movements.
• Prepare and review daily and monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.
• Verify and match deal tickets with confirmations received from counterparties. And ensure timely and accurate execution of payments and settlements.
• Assist in opening/closing bank accounts.
• Process and maintain documentation for bank guarantees, LCs, and other non-funded facilities.
• Liaise with Treasury Front Office, Accounting, AP, and external banking partners.
• Monitor daily cash balances and prepare short-term cashflow reports.
• Support in managing liquidity across group accounts and entities.
• Assist in the preparation of weekly/monthly cash position forecast.
• Track, manage, and report on short-term investment activities.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies and audit requirements and provide support for both internal and external audits related to treasury activities.
• Contribute to policy improvements and automation initiatives for treasury processes.
• Maintain and support bank KYC requests, account opening/closing, mandate updates, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor bank charges, interest, FX gains/losses, and reconcile differences.
• Prepare monthly treasury schedules and support month-end closing activities.
• Assist in the preparation of management reports on cash movements and treasury KPIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of treasury or accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of banking processes, payment systems, cash management, and treasury controls.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (Oracle, or similar).
• Strong communication and coordination abilities with internal teams and banks.
• High sense of integrity, reliability, confidentiality and professionalism.
• Ability to follow structured processes and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Team player with a proactive mindset.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience with treasury management systems (TMS).
• Exposure to multi-entity or regional treasury operations.
