Location: Everett, WA

Ideal Start Date: April 1, 2026 (flexible)

Schedule: Flexible each week. Usual shift will be 6:30am to 5:30pm or 7:30am to 4:30pm. 128 hours guaranteed hours minimum per month but normal schedule will be 130-160 hours/month. Family can provide schedule 2-3 months in advance. Includes occasional weekends.

Children: 3.5 years old and 1.5 years old

Compensation: $30-$35/hr DOE plus a minimum of 128 guaranteed hours/month, paid time off, accrued paid sick time, mileage reimbursement, healthcare stipend and overtime paid for any federal holidays worked. Prefer legal pay with taxes withheld

Family expects this position to last for approximately 2-3 years.

The Family:

This energetic, busy family of four is looking for a reliable and high energy full time nanny/household assistant to care for their 3.5 year old daughter and 1.5 year old son beginning around April 1, 2026.

Both parents are doctors that work irregular shifts. They are provided their work schedules 2-3 months in advance. They are seeking a flexible provider that can work a minimum of 128 hours/month up to a maximum of 160 hours/month. The family needs the provider to be available for 130 to 160 hours/month due to their work schedules. Usual shift for the provider will be 6:30am to 5:30pm or 7:30am to 4:30pm. There will be no work some weeks which is why the family is offering monthly guaranteed hours. Mother works from home at times but has a detached office that she works from.

Ideal candidate has a minimum of 4-5 years experience caring for toddlers and preschoolers and at least one year of experience handling household assistant tasks. Family is specifically seeking a flexible nanny/household assistant that has experience caring for similar aged children. Preschooler is bright and energetic and loves playing outdoors and working on art projects. Toddler is happy, easy-going, and is an excellent sleeper. When caring for the children, family is looking for a nanny that emphasizes building a connection with the children and play. Mom has sensitivity to perfumes. No other special needs or allergies.

The Job Description:

The nanny will be responsible for ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for their children during the day. In addition to general child care, job duties will include:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of both children at all times
  • Diapering and restocking supplies
  • Facilitating naps
  • Monitor and track development milestones
  • Encourage communication and language skills through reading, storytelling, and conversations
  • Safely transport children to school, activities and events as needed
  • Prepare and provide meals/snacks for the children, accommodating dietary preferences or restrictions
  • Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development, such as arts and crafts, reading/story-telling, and educational games
  • Communicating with parents about the day, any needs, and partner together on child development in order to keep care consistent
  • Help with light child-related chores including child laundry, organizing toys, etc.
  • Daily tidying of spaces used throughout the day so that the home is returned to its original condition at the day’s end
  • Light household assistant duties (irregular grocery shopping, loading/unloading dishwasher, family laundry, light meal prep) when children are occupied. No deep cleaning/organization required as family has a house cleaner that comes twice per month

Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:

Ideal candidate has a minimum of 4-5 years experience caring for toddlers and preschoolers and at least one year of experience handling household assistant tasks. Candidate must be a non-smoker and should prioritize reliability and consistency. A background or interest in child development would be a bonus, but not required. The nanny should be up to date on all vaccinations, including TDAP, MMR, annual influenza and Covid. They should be current with their Child CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to update). At least three childcare related references required. A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle for use on the job is preferred.
