Unit Head Merchants & Partnerships

Key Responsibilities

Offline Merchant & B2B Partnerships

  • Build and execute the merchant partnerships strategy to grow acceptance for our wallet/QR business across priority categories (e.g., grocery, food, fashion, electronics, services).
  • Identify, pitch, and onboard merchants and aggregators (direct + via PSPs/payment gateways) to drive wallet adoption and transaction volume.
  • Own the end-to-end partnership lifecycle: prospecting → deal structuring → contracting → onboarding → go-live → growth.
  • Negotiate commercials (MDR, rebates, co-marketing, settlement terms, exclusivity where relevant) and ensure sustainable unit economics.
  • Create joint growth plans with merchants (promotions, bundles, loyalty, wallet-first offers) and track performance.
  • Increase Current Account/Wallet business by targeting Corporates and selling business solutions.

Integrations & Onboarding (Product+ Tech + Ops)

  • Lead the integration process with merchant tech teams and internal Product/Engineering/QA.
  • Drive merchant integration requirements: payment flows, checkout UX, refunds/chargebacks, reconciliation, reporting, webbooks/APIs, and settlement.
  • Build scalable onboarding playbooks, documentation, and workflows to reduce time-to-live.
  • Coordinate with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Finance to ensure regulatory and operational readiness.

Scaling & Ecosystem Growth

  • Expand partnerships through marketplaces, e-commerce platforms, delivery apps, subscription merchants, and billing use cases.
  • Launch and manage merchant programs focusing on QR business (tiering, incentives, performance-based pricing, seasonal campaigns).
  • Monitor merchant funnel health (pipeline, conversion, integration completion rate, activation rate) and fix bottlenecks.
  • Analyze performance data and propose product enhancements that improve conversion and retention.
  • Increasing wallet deposit through bringing new Wallets via B2B partnerships

E-commerce Business Partnerships (Additional)

  • Identify partnerships that unlock new demand channels (e.g., affiliate networks, last-mile/logistics partners, platforms, enablers).
  • Work with marketing to run co-branded campaigns and optimize ROI across partner channels.


Job Requirements:

  • 3–7+ years in merchant partnerships / BD within payments, wallets, fintech, PSPs, gateways, or e-commerce platforms .
  • Minimum bachelor's degree from HEC recognized University
  • Proven track record of closing merchant deals and onboarding B2B deals and scaling them post-integration.
  • Strong understanding of payments concepts: MDR, settlement, refunds, chargebacks, reconciliation, risk/fraud basics .
  • Experience managing technical integrations (APIs, plugins, checkout flows) and coordinating with engineering teams.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working with data (Excel/Sheets, dashboards) to drive decisions.
