Position Purpose:

The UI/UX & Visual Designer supports LUMSx’s mission to deliver high-quality online learning experiences. The role focuses on visual design, user experience, and digital branding across LUMSx platforms, including social media, website, and course materials, to help our courses reach and engage the communities that benefit most.

The position collaborates closely with marketing, production, and academic teams, contributing directly to connecting learners with opportunities for high-quality learning.

Key Responsibilities :

Social Media Design & Management

  • Design visually engaging social media posts and promotional content across platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar in collaboration with the marketing team to ensure timely, relevant, and brand-aligned communication.

Website Design & Maintenance

  • Contribute to improving the LUMSx website’s user interference and user experience.
  • Update and manage website content using WordPress and Elementor templates to ensure accuracy, consistency, and visual quality.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress and Elementor is an advantage. On-the-job training may be provided based on role requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the production team to review video and multimedia content.
  • Provide design input on visuals, animations, and on-screen graphics to ensure brand and quality alignment.

Learning Material Updates

  • Update and maintain existing course assets, including digital course outline templates and learner-facing materials.
  • Ensure formatting consistency, accuracy and alignment with LUMSx design standards.

Print & Marketing Collateral

  • Design, print and physical marketing materials including flyers, banners, standees, and event-related collateral for on-campus and public-facing activities.

Design System Adherence

  • Ensure consistency with established LUMSx design systems, brand guidelines, and learning experience standards across all outputs.

Knowledge & Skills:

Essential:

  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills. Proficiency in Figma (wireframing, prototyping, and component-based design).
  • Strong visual design capabilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Canva for marketing-led design requirements.
  • Experience designing for social media platforms.
  • Basic understanding of video content workflows, motion graphics, or post-production design.
  • Ability to manage tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite(particularly Photoshop and Illustrator).
  • Working knowledge of WordPress and page builders (e.g., Elementor).
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles for digital products.
  • Experience working in EdTech, digital learning, or academic environments.

Qualifications :

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Communication, HCI, Computer Science, Media Studies, or a related field. Certifications in UX/UI or Digital Design.

Experience:

  • At least 1-2 years in a design-related role (fresh graduates with a strong portfolio may apply).
