The VDI Solutions Architect will lead the end-to-end design, capacity planning and roadmap for enterprise VDI and workspace services across on-prem, hybrid and cloud models. You’ll partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, secure VDI architectures and govern standards, best practices and automation frameworks.
3. Key Responsibilities:
Solution Design & Roadmap
- Drive the creation of High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level (LLD) design artifacts for VDI and workspace services.
- Conduct capacity planning, sizing exercises and TCO/ROI analyses for new VDI projects.
Platform Strategy & Governance
- Define and enforce standards, best practices and naming conventions for VDI builds, images, and policies.
- Establish a governance model for change control, security posture and lifecycle management.
Automation & Integration
- Architect infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/PowerShell/Ansible) frameworks for repeatable VDI deployments.
Integrate VDI with identity, endpoint management and cloud orchestration platforms (e.g., Azure AD, Okta, Workspace ONE).
Performance Optimization & Capacity Management
- Lead performance tuning, capacity forecasting and proactive scaling plans.
- Develop monitoring dashboards and runbooks for trend analysis and cost optimization.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Facilitate workshops with application, networking and security teams to align on interoperability requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and review technical designs for compliance with enterprise architecture.
