Job Description

EYL 365 Project is seeking a dynamic and expressive Ventriloquist Youth educator to lead a joyful after-school enrichment program for PK–PK3 students. This is a great opportunity for performers who enjoy working with young children and sharing creativity, storytelling, and stage presence in a fun, supportive environment.

Position: Ventriloquist Youth Educator (PK–PK3) – After-School Enrichment

Program Provider: EYL 365 Project

Program Length: 10 weeks

Schedule: Once per week during after-school hours (3:40 PM – 5:45 PM). The instructor will lead two (2) 45-minute sessions back-to-back within this program window.

Culminating Event: Student Showcase Performance. The program culminates in a student showcase, celebrating student creativity and growth. Bring characters to life and inspire young performers!

Students will explore:

● Puppetry and ventriloquism basics

● Character creation and expressive voice work

● Storytelling and performance confidence

Key Responsibilities

● Lead engaging, age-appropriate ventriloquism sessions

● Introduce puppets, characters, and storytelling through play

● Foster confidence, imagination, and collaboration

● Support students in preparing for a final showcase

Compensation

● $35 - $50 per hour, based on experience

● Paid instructional time only

● Showcase support coordinated separately

Required Qualifications

● Experience in ventriloquism, puppetry, theater, or performance

● Experience working with young children (PK–early elementary preferred)

● Reliable availability for the full 10-week program

Required Compliance (Must Be Willing to Obtain)

● Mandated Reporter Certification

● CPR/First Aid Certification

● Background clearance (per school/district requirements)

EYL 365 Project Youth Educators are highly skilled artists and educators, committed to creating equitable learning spaces through collaborative teaching practices and social justice pedagogy. They report directly to the Program Director and are supported by EYL 365 Project Department Heads and Program Coordinators. They work closely with classroom teachers, school administrators, and teaching artists to positively impact school communities.

Job Types: Contract, Freelance

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
