Veterinary Assistant

Moreland Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team!

This is a great opportunity for someone who is excited to fully utilize their skills in both surgery and outpatient care while building meaningful relationships with clients and their pets. What You’ll Do

As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play an important role in both patient care and client experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with surgical and dental procedures, including patient prep and recovery
  • Supporting exam room flow with patient handling and appointment prep
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records
  • Communicating with clients during check-in, treatment plan discussions, and discharge instructions
  • Collecting lab samples and assisting with diagnostics
  • Performing radiographs and assisting with treatments
  • Anticipating team needs to help maintain an efficient daily schedule

Schedule

  • Full-time, 5/8 schedule
  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • No weekends!

Full-time benefits and compensation**:

  • Compensation: $18-21 per hour, for each hour worked*
  • Bonus package: $500 for those with 3+ years of consecutive, current experience

What We’re Looking For

  • 1+ year of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude

Hands-on experience with:

  • Radiology
  • Surgical setup and assisting
  • Phlebotomy
  • Subcutaneous injections
  • Laboratory sample collection
  • Inpatient care
