Job Overview
As a Veterinary Nurse, you will play a key role in providing high-quality nursing support and patient care under the supervision of senior nursing staff and veterinarians. This role focuses on learning, consistency, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic
Key Responsibilities
1. Surgical Nursing (with supervision)

Prepare surgical kits and equipment as per protocols

Set up and clean surgical areas before and after operations
-
Prepare patients for surgery and monitor during anaesthesia (with guidance))

Record vital signs and follow post-op plans from the veterinarian

Keep surgery areas sterile and organized
2. Medical & General Nursing
-
Carry out nursing care and treatments as instructed
-
Clean and maintain wards, cages, and isolation areas
-
Administer medications and monitor patients under direction
-
Collect and label samples for testing
-
Assist in radiography with correct PPE and safety procedures
3. Client & Reception Support
-
Greet clients with professionalism and compassion
-
Assist in admitting and discharging patients
-
Provide non-clinical animal care advice

Schedule appointments and update records
-
Follow up with clients as instructed
4. Operational & Clinic Hygiene
-
Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the clinic
-
Comply with infection control and biosecurity protocols
-
Assist with stock unpacking and basic inventory
-
Safely handle hazardous and clinical waste
5. Professional Conduct
-
Communicate clearly and respectfully with all team members
-
Be punctual, reliable, and take initiative where appropriate

Wear clean, appropriate uniform daily
-
Protect client and practice confidentiality
-
Attend staff meetings and training sessions
6. Admin & Stock Control
-
Help maintain accurate patient records
-
Notify order nurse when supplies are low
-
Assist with stock pricing, rotating, and basic inventory tasks
-
Support the daily banking, mailing, and other office tasks as trained
Requirements
-
Certification of either of the following veterinary nursing, or animal science, or veterinary Science.

Achieved in-house by completion of Level 2 Nursing manual.
-
Minimum [1-2] years of clinical experience (new graduates may be considered).

Proficiency in clinical skills including anaesthesia monitoring, wound care, and diagnostics.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a calm and empathetic demeanor.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call shifts.
