Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Veterinary Receptionist to join our dynamic veterinary team. Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets warmly, establishing a positive first impression and ensuring a smooth check-in process
- Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and follow-ups to optimize clinic flow
- Handle medical collections accurately and efficiently, including processing payments and insurance claims
- Maintain detailed patient records using veterinary terminology and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Assist with pet care activities such as kennel management, animal husbandry, and pet grooming when needed
- Support veterinary staff with laboratory experience tasks, including sample collection and basic testing procedures
- Facilitate animal handling and restraint during examinations or treatments, ensuring safety for both animals and staff
- Coordinate communication between pet owners and veterinary professionals regarding treatment plans or follow-up care
- Maintain cleanliness of reception area, treatment rooms, and kennel spaces using aseptic techniques when necessary
- Assist with animal catheterization procedures or other veterinary critical care activities under supervision when appropriate
Requirements
- Previous experience in veterinary clinics or animal care environments is highly preferred, including kennel experience and animal husbandry skills
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, restraint techniques, and pet care best practices
- Hands-on experience with dog handling, dog training, pet grooming, or pet grooming is a plus
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine and medical collection processes
- Ability to perform animal catheterization or assist in veterinary critical care situations is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members in a lively, professional manner
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
