The Veterinary Receptionist must be friendly and possess a positive attitude - as the receptionist is often the first contact when visiting or calling the clinic. He/she must treat clients with the utmost respect at all times. He/she must also be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills, computer proficient, and have the ability to multi-task under pressure.

In short, the Veterinary Receptionist should understand the importance of clear communication with clients as well as colleagues, possess good critical thinking and problem-solving skills, willing to work as a team to obtain a positive work environment, ability to maintain a positive attitude while multi-tasking and fostering client bonding. Punctuality is a must. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
