The Vice President, Human Resources, Benefits & Administration serves as a senior HR leader and department of one, overseeing the human resources, benefits, and administrative functions within a fast-paced and complex Pharmacy Benefit Management healthcare industry. The role focuses on attracting top talent, ensuring competitive compensation, and providing best-in-class benefits. Additionally, it aims to cultivate an inclusive and positive work environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, professional development, positive employee engagement and collaboration across the organization. This experienced HR professional reports directly to the COO.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Act as a trusted advisor to staff at all levels, providing guidance on HR, employee relations, benefits, employee engagement, and professional development.
· Develop and implement organizational talent planning, including employee engagement programs, succession planning and gap analyses, management training, staff development, diversity and inclusion, compliance models, training and reporting, industry education, and career pathing.
· Collaborate with leadership to craft clear, engaging communications that support culture and change initiatives. Develop approach for cascading key HR and organizational messages throughout the organization to ensure clarity, alignment, and engagement.
· Manage the recruiting process, from drafting position descriptions and placing ads to supporting managers in candidate vetting, interviews, reference checks, and offers. Develop and execute strategies for attracting and retaining a diverse workforce.
· Establish and oversee onboarding and offboarding procedures to create a welcoming environment. Conduct exit interviews and share feedback.
· Lead the internal Diversity and Inclusion task force.
· Enhance and oversee the performance review and goal-setting process, collaborating with managers to set individual staff goals aligned with the annual strategic plan. Manage the TrakStar performance management system and support its use throughout the year.
· Operationalize organizational design initiatives, including promotion frameworks, titles/levels structure, compensation methodologies, and bonus structure to ensure fairness and compliance with market standards.
· Lead annual review process and updates to the employee handbook, ensuring modernized and best-practices policies, clear communication of protocols, alignment with organizational culture and operations, and compliance with federal and local laws.
· Maintain a centralized HR portal with all HR-related information and resources accessible to staff.
· Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, including managing state withholding and unemployment tax accounts.
· Serve as the primary administrator for the Association’s benefit program, including 401k, FSA, and health, dental, and vision insurance. Develop cost-effective and competitive benefit strategies that meet employee needs while ensuring compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Ability to operate as full-service HR department of one, owning both company-wide HR planning and day-to-day execution.
· Strong knowledge of and experience working in multiple HR disciplines including performance management, benefits, compensation, employee relations, recruitment, professional development, and federal and state employment laws.
· Experience with a similar suite of responsibilities with an organization of similar size and scope.
· Experience operating in a confidential and trustworthy manner, exercising sound judgment, with a sincere concern for treating people fairly and equitably.
· You communicate and coordinate effectively at every level; share information; work cooperatively; seek out relevant information, decide the appropriate steps, and get the desired results; have a proven track record of getting results through others by building strong relationships and partnerships; and are known for your poise, discretion, and diplomacy.

· Effective communicator. You communicate clearly and directly; easily adjust your message, without sacrificing content or consistency; and understand the association’s role within the industry and the role of each position within the association.
· Knowledge of general business operations including facilities, accounting, and budgets.
· High proficiency with Microsoft Office.
· Knowledge of ADP payroll system and Trakstar is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Ten plus years of relevant HR generalist experience.
· HRCI and/or SHRM certification preferred.
· A Bachelors degree is required. An advanced degree in HR or a related field is preferred and may be considered in lieu of certification.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
PCMA offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The salary range for this position is $200-240k with bonus potential. PCMA offers healthcare and flex spending benefits and generous paid time off.
