The Vice Principal is accountable for carrying out the responsibilities independently, unless otherwise mentioned in the following areas. Matters may be escalated to the Principal, only if it is a protocol or if the seriousness of the same demands it.
01. Upgrade the Curriculum as per the changing needs and implement the same to yield the best outcome for the school.
1. Update the curriculum through proper review processes to meet the changing needs.
2. Meet the academic criteria to reach the top levels in any inspection or verification of the accreditation or inspection bodies.
3. Review Assessment policy and monitor its implementation with proper communication with all concerned.
4. Plan and conduct internal and external assessments and analyze their results, as per the criteria of the curriculum.
5. Develop and monitor a strong Pre-KG and KG section in school.
6. Conduct orientations and workshops for parents, students and staff.
02. Management of School Assessments
1. Plan and supervise the school internal and external assessments procedures and policies.
2. Work closely with the senior leadership team to introduce effective benchmarking examination procedures for students.
3. Make strategies to improve the external benchmark tests results of the school.
03. Special Educational Needs
1. Review and implement the school inclusion policy annually.
2. Devise and promote plans to meet the needs of pupils with SEN and that they are reflected in the school improvement plan.
3. Regularly monitor progress against targets for pupils with SEN from teachers’ plans, evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning by work analysis and use these analyses to guide future improvements.
4. Liaise with staff, parents, external agencies and other schools to co-ordinate their contribution, provide maximum support and ensure continuity of educational provision for pupils with SEN.
5. Maintain open lines of communications with the parents and ensure that their feedback including concerns, complaints and compliments are handled effectively, efficiently and in a timely manner.
6. Be accountable to make sure that the school meets all the requirements as per the MOE/SPEA.
04. Human Resource Development
1. Effective process of staff recruitment, timely approvals from SPEA, allocation and retention.
2. Ensure staff discipline and their commitment. Be accountable for staff attrition not to exceed 7% annually.
3. Staff orientations, training and appraisals. Ensure that all staff, including self, meet the requirements of CPD as per updates from SPEA/MOE.
4. Conduct a minimum of one lesson observation and one learning walk independently per day, discuss and share the report with the concerned teacher and record it for further analysis. Monitor the process of school Quality Cycle through individual and joint observations and monitoring individual progress. Improvement of performance rating in at least 60% of teaching staff.
5. Draw up staff schedules and follow up on effective time management.
05. Registration and Re-registration of students
1. Develop strategies for increasing new admissions in all classes to reach the capacity by 2024-2025.
2. Participate in the selection process of new admissions. Revise the entrance test question papers every year.
3. Ensure that the students of each year re-registers for the next academic year.
4. Orientations and academic follow up for new students in school and their parents.
06. Achieving high standards in Learning and Teaching
1. Over 85% students are in line with or above the curriculum expectations.
2. Over 75% students attain standards at par or above the National average at the benchmark test.
3. Conduct a minimum of one lesson observation and one learning walk independently per day, discuss and share the report with the concerned teacher and record it for further analysis. Monitor the process of school Quality Cycle through individual and joint observations and monitoring individual progress. Improvement of performance rating in at least 60% of teaching staff.
4. Conduct review and evaluation of teaching and learning policies and strategies.
5. Assist the Principal with managing curriculum, programs, services, and resources.

7. Effective enhancement program for low achievers and motivational programs for high achievers.
8. Ensure plans are in place to set tangible targets and enable them to achieve them for all ‘groups’ of students in school in their academic performance.
9. Plan, implement and monitor a viable BYOD program after ensuring that the school is ready for it.
10. Conduct and analyze surveys in discussion with the principal.
07. Being accountable for the resource and finance management of the school
1. Ensure proper management of school resources.
2. Oversee the budgetary allocations and plan in advance to achieve the set targets.
3. Ensure not to overshoot the set benchmarks on expenses beyond agreeable caps.
4. Ensure that fair procurement processes are followed, and that the correct resources are used to meet school goals.
5. Sign off all LPOs based on the previous benchmarks proportionate to the increase in number of students and comparable market rates with a minimum of 3 quotations for each order, wherever applicable.
6. Sourcing of alternative funds and ensuring that it helps in the attainment of the goals of the school.
08. Extra-curricular activities/remedial sessions and school events
1. Organize school calendar and monitor the activities/events etc.
2. Ensure the events to happen without reminders, but with proper communication and collaboration of all concerned.
3. Increased participation of students and staff in Inter-school, National and International level competitions.
4. Effective planning and execution of educational tours, national and international celebrations and participations, PTMs and other school events.
5. Follow-up with parents and external communities.
09. Compliance
1. Be accountable for no warning or fine in academics and academic administration from SPEA or any other Govt offices.
2. Commit to tasks which may require additional effort and time for the benefit of the school.
3. Respond to emails from Parents, Staff and Community members within 24 hours.
4. Contribute to the corporate life of the school through effective participation in meetings and management systems necessary to coordinate the management of the school.
5. Establish effective working relationships and set a good example through the presentation and personal and professional conduct.
6. Maintain confidentiality on matters related to School, Parents, Staff, Students, External stakeholders and infrastructure.
7. Abstain from receiving any gift (tangible or non-tangible) or personal favors from any stakeholders including students, parents, staff and potential vendors.
8. Take up and fulfill other responsibilities as requested by the principal as and when needed.
To line manage:
1. Heads of Departments: who are accountable for their departments to raise quality of learning and teaching across the school as per the expected standards and appropriate use of resources for learning. They are also responsible for testing and evaluation. Be accountable to empower the HODs to achieve the targets set for them under Quality Cycle
2. Internal and External Examination Coordinators: who are responsible for all examination related matters, including those related to the benchmarking tests.
3. Academic Advisor: who facilitates all procedures for academic policy implementations in school. Also, ensure the quality assurance through regular monitoring based on relevant data.
4. Head of Subjects (Activity Coordinator): who facilitates all procedures for various activities, events and competitions in and for the school.
5. School Counsellor: For all matters related to Special Education Department, who is also responsible for benchmarking tests.
6. Social Worker (Indirect): who provides personal, social and emotional counselling services for students, parents and staff.
