Structure: Project-based Cohort

Position Overview

The Global Peace Foundation is seeking creative, detail-oriented freelancers to join our Video & Photography Cohort. This is a flexible, project-based role designed for students or early-career professionals seeking high-level experience in nonprofit media production, executive communications, and international digital storytelling.

Instead of a fixed weekly schedule, cohort members opt-in to specific assignments—ranging from event coverage to podcast editing—based on their availability and skill set.

Scope of Work (SOW)

Freelancers will support the Communications Team across four primary pillars:

1. Event Coverage & Documentation

• Capture high-quality photography and B-roll at conferences, leadership forums, and VIP visits.
• Manage equipment setup/teardown for standing video and audio recordings.
• Produce rapid-response social media clips during live events.

2. Social Media & Digital Production

• Create short-form vertical content (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) for international observance days and behind-the-scenes features.
• Assist in producing event recap reels and campaign-specific video assets.

3. Post-Production Editing

• Perform photo selection, retouching, and file archiving.
• Edit video content, including captioning, subtitling, and platform-specific formatting.
• Tools: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Lightroom, or After Effects.

4. Podcast Support

• Assist with technical setups (mics/cameras) for recording sessions.
• Monitor live audio/video feeds and sync assets for post-production.

Candidate Requirements

• Technical Proficiency: Experience with DSLR/Mirrorless cameras, basic lighting, and audio troubleshooting.
• Professionalism: Strong work ethic and a professional demeanor suitable for high-profile environments.
• Location: Must have reliable transportation to our office in Lanham, MD.
• Legal: 18+ years of age, authorized to work in the US, and willing to sign an NDA.

Preferred Interests:

• Background in Film, Media, Journalism, or Marketing.
• Interest in global development, international relations, or the nonprofit sector.

Contract Structure & Commitment

• The "Opt-In" Model: This contract is project-based. You will receive assignment requests and may claim them based on your schedule.
• Workload: Expect 2-3 hours per week, though this varies based on the organization's event calendar.
• Advanced Opportunities: High-performing freelancers may be tapped for mini-documentaries, creative concept development, or leadership headshots.
