SCHEDULE:
Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift,

POSITION SUMMARY

The Visual Content Creator is responsible for using storytelling, photography, video, audio, lighting, and editing to support internal and external communications and marketing efforts for various SGMC Health audiences. This role requires a creative storyteller with a keen eye for detail, technical proficiency in video production, and a passion for creating compelling visual narratives. This individual will be a part of the Marketing and Brand Experience team and work closely with many departments within the health system. They will consult with SGMC Health experts and staff, leadership, and patients/families to develop project plans that include creative direction and a detailed schedule. The Visual Content Creator has project management responsibilities and works under tight deadlines to independently complete assignments.

EDUCATION

Associate’s degree in mass media, Visual Communications, or related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Two or more years of videography experience required. Healthcare experience is a plus. Must provide links to work examples or a portfolio. Experience using graphics and motion graphics programs such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Thorough knowledge of video production principles, including audio, lighting, composition, and post-production editing processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of multimedia storytelling techniques, with an emphasis on creating engaging visual narratives for various audiences.
  • General knowledge of digital platforms and tools for content creation, including Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
  • Working knowledge of social media trends and platform requirements for video and photography content.
  • Proficient in operating and troubleshooting video, audio, and lighting equipment for field and studio productions.
  • Strong skills in video editing, including adding graphics, closed captioning, and special effects to footage.
  • Effective project management skills to coordinate, plan, and deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Strong storytelling and creative skills to develop content that aligns with SGMC Health’s brand and messaging.
  • Detail-oriented proofreading and quality control skills to ensure accuracy and consistency in visual content.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to conceptualize, produce, and edit multimedia content that resonates with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal departments, leadership, patients, and families to bring project visions to life.
  • Ability to direct on-site teams during production
  • Ability to creatively problem-solve challenges in production settings, such as location limitations or technical issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and visually, to convey project ideas, directions, and outcomes.
  • Must be flexible in work schedule to plan and assist with night and weekend events.
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION

Considerable sitting, standing, lifting, and walking required. Primarily indoor office situation with comfortable conditions. Occasional hours on evening shift and weekends for special projects and events. Occasional extra hours during disaster exercises or actual emergencies.
