About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced vocational education professional with a strong background in Technical and Vocational Education and Training, from Engineering background. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with assessment centers to support implementation nationally and internationally recognized qualifications/trade tests, ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards, and supporting certification, evaluation, and reporting processes.
This role leverages deep technical knowledge, certified assessment expertise, and experience in managing internal verification and examination systems within a regulated educational or training environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Training for the assessor, IQA and Trainers qualifications.
- Play the role of external quality assurer
- Support assessment centers to setup for trade test and competences tests for different trades such as: carpentry, painting, welding and other vocational trades.
- Serve as Internal Verifier (Internal Quality Assurer): review assessment decisions, standardize practices across assessors, and ensure compliance with ISO and awarding body quality standards.
- Collaborate with trainers, IQAs, and external verifiers to uphold assessment integrity and continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on evolving TVET frameworks, RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) guidelines, and digital assessment tools.
Qualifications, Experience & Certification
- Mandatory Certifications:
- Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent
- Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance or equivalent
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
- Additional credential: RPL Essential & RPL Development Certificate (from ILO or recognized body) is highly desirable.
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience as a Trainer-Assessor in a regulated environment.
- Demonstrated experience serving in dual roles as Assessor, Internal Verifier, and Trainer in technical areas like construction/engineering.
Technical & Soft Skills
- Strong technical skills in Assessment of vocational trades for people.
- Proficiency in assessment planning, moderation, and quality assurance documentation.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ethical judgment in high-stakes assessment.
- Experience in setting up assessment bays with right tools and equipment.
- Ability to mentor learners and support colleagues in maintaining assessment validity.
