VP/Director of Finance

We are looking for an experienced VP/Director of Finance to oversee key financial operations for a non-profit organization in Alexandria, Virginia. In this contract role, you will play a pivotal part in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic financial decision-making. This position is ideal for an experienced finance specialist with over 10 years of experience and a strong background in non-profit financial management.


Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of annual budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

• Oversee month-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

• Manage financial reporting activities, maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• Supervise accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

• Provide strategic financial insights to support organizational decision-making and long-term planning.

• Collaborate with department heads to monitor and control expenses.

• Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures while identifying areas for improvement.

• Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends and opportunities for growth.

• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory bodies.

• Drive the adoption of best practices in financial management and reporting.

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, preferably within the healthcare industry.
• Proven expertise in managing annual budgets, month-end close processes, and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) operations.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree or CPA preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team in a dynamic environment.
