Waiter/Attendant

Main Objectives

Provide efficient and high-quality food and beverage service to customers while ensuring smooth restaurant/Outlet operations. This includes welcoming and assisting guests, taking and processing orders accurately, handling payments, coordinating with the kitchen and bar, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, managing restaurant equipment and stock, and assisting in meal arrangements for transit and delayed passengers. The role also involves ensuring customer satisfaction, minimizing service delays, and supporting financial accuracy through proper billing and reconciliation.

Main Duties

o Takes over duties from the outgoing shift, ensuring a sufficient number of waiters are available, ascertaining the number of customers, outstanding orders and bills, checking on kitchen attendance during the night shift, informing the supervisor, and ensuring the restaurant area is clean and tidy with properly set tables to ensure smooth shift transitions, operational readiness, and a well-maintained dining area.

o Attending daily staff briefing to ensure operations run efficiently and staff is aware of promotions to enhance communication, service consistency, and promotion awareness.

o Welcomes customers and directs them to tables, ensuring entitled passengers in transit restaurants have the appropriate vouchers, taking orders, passing them to the kitchen and bar, ensuring meals are well presented, and customers are properly served to provide excellent customer service and ensure efficient order processing.

o Collects vouchers and presents bills to paying customers, collects cash in various currencies, ensures notes are genuine, applies the correct exchange rate, and provides the right change to maintain accurate billing and ensure proper handling of transactions.

o Assists in contacting the Transfer Desk, obtaining flight delay and transit information, and coordinating and arranging meals as per the nature of the delay for all passengers as requested by airlines to ensure timely meal arrangements for delayed passengers and smooth coordination with airlines.

o Ensures that all restaurant equipment, including glassware, cutlery, crockery, and table linen, are in good condition and sufficient for operations, coordinating with the equipment store to ensure availability to maintain restaurant readiness and prevent service disruptions due to equipment shortages.

o Assists in monitoring and ensuring an adequate stock of beverages, compiling data, and ensuring stock availability at all times to manage beverage inventory efficiently to meet customer demand.

o Responsible for tallying accounts with the Kitchen Order Ticket at the end of every shift in the absence of the supervisor to ensure financial accuracy and smooth end-of-shift reconciliation.

o Comply with Company's health, safety & security requirements.

o Carries out other similar or related duties as directed by the management.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

o Minimum of High School diploma followed by a diploma level course in Hospitality Industry.

Experience:

o Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality or catering industry

Other Essential Requirements:

o Great in spoken/written English.

o Thorough Knowledge about Catering Industry.
