Job Description – Waitress

Position Title: Waitress
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports To: F&B Service Supervisor

Position Overview

The Waitress is responsible for delivering efficient and courteous food and beverage service in accordance with established hotel standards. The role ensures a positive dining experience through professional guest interaction, accurate order handling, and consistent service execution.

Key Responsibilities Service Delivery

  • Greet and welcome guests in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Present menus and provide detailed information regarding menu items, ingredients, and promotions.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
  • Serve food and beverages in accordance with established service standards.
  • Monitor guest tables to anticipate needs and ensure satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
  • Clear and reset tables promptly following service standards.

Guest Experience

  • Maintain a courteous and attentive approach at all times.
  • Address guest requests and concerns efficiently, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Ensure guest preferences and special requests are communicated accurately to the kitchen.

Operational Compliance

  • Ensure proper mise en place before service.
  • Follow hygiene and food safety regulations, including HACCP standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned section.
  • Adhere to hotel policies, SOPs, and grooming standards.

Financial & Administrative Duties

  • Ensure accuracy of orders and billing before presenting to guests.
  • Follow proper cash handling and billing procedures where applicable.
  • Report any discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.

Teamwork & Coordination

  • Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff for smooth service flow.
  • Assist colleagues during peak service periods.
  • Participate in pre-shift briefings and training sessions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in food and beverage service preferred.
  • Experience in hotel or upscale dining environment is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and service standards.
