A Warehouse Assistant / Storekeeper is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing goods while keeping accurate inventory records and ensuring the warehouse runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving goods

Check incoming shipments against delivery notes or invoices

Inspect items for damage or shortages

Record received items in the system or stock register

Storage & organization

Arrange goods properly in shelves, racks, or bins

Label items clearly for easy identification

Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment

Issuing goods

Prepare and dispatch materials based on requests

Ensure correct quantity and item are issued

Update stock records after every issue

Inventory control

Maintain accurate stock records (manual or system)

Conduct regular stock counts / audits

Report shortages, excess, or damaged items

Coordination

Work with procurement, logistics, and transport teams

Assist with loading/unloading deliveries

Communicate with supervisors about stock levels
