Wholesale Cluster Lead II
This role leads all SME (Subject Matter Expert) activities for all Warehouse and Logistics processes in OTC and Nutritionals factories at the Myerstown site. This role works with a multidisciplinary dynamic team and is accountable for E2E (end-to-end) ownership tactically and strategically for all Warehouse and Logistics processes. This role is responsible for ensuring Warehouse and Logistics process optimization, driving operational efficiencies, best practices, innovation / new technologies, and continuous process improvement to ensure seamless operations and adherence to industry regulations.
This role collaborates closely with the Operational Excellence, Supply Chain, Engineering, Facilities and SSHE, Manufacturing IT, and Quality functions teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and value creation. The role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and a focus on driving innovation, cost efficiency, and digitalization. This role must provide strong leadership and coaching and development for high performing teams with a culture based on the Bayer DSO principles.
The role embraces Dynamic Shared Ownership (DSO) principles and practices and follows the VACC approach to leadership (being a visionary, architect, catalyst, and coach). The role actively evolves the site operating model and fosters successful adoption of DSO.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership: Act as VACC (Visionary, Architect, Coach and Catalyst) to build, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of professionals, promoting a collaborative and innovative work environment. Establish target outcomes, priorities, and coordinate talent flow to maximize organizational impact. The incumbent demonstrates, credibly embodies and showcases VACC leadership.
Build a diverse, inclusive talent pool where members share and support each other to build their expertise; recruit, hire, and onboard new employees, based on team requirements.
Lead initiatives to enhance the reliability of warehouse and logistics systems and processes. Provide SME (Subject Matter Expert) leadership and guidance for technical and non-technical topics to the warehouse clusters teams, and cross-functional teams (e.g. LocMat workflows, TMS/Blue Jay, Teams Channels, U Drive: group, IT Service Desk, SmartBuy).
Lead Product Supply System (PSS) initiatives and continuous improvement projects in Warehouse/Logistics operations to enhance the warehouse processes, reduce waste, and improve overall performance. Identify and address operational barriers and production challenges that impact efficiency and quality.
Lead the standardization efforts across OTC and Nutritional warehouse and logistics processes, documentation, training, and all business processes.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, GMP standards, and industry best practices across Nutritionals, and OTC warehouse and logistics processes and facilities.
Ensure compliance of local, state and federal regulations and guidelines, Bayer standards (e.g., Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), etc.) for all import, export and hazardous material transportation requirements.
Oversee the implementation and management of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), electronic records systems. Lead efforts to optimize and maintain electronic record processes and ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of all relevant records.
Participate in regular internal and external audits (FDA, DEA, NSF, DOT, QPS, GEMBA) to maintain compliance and address any discrepancies.
Work closely with supply chain, engineering, core operations, quality, controlling, manufacturing IT, CoE Hubs, HR, and other departments to ensure seamless collaboration across all functions.
Close collaboration with supply chain and core operations function to understand the customers demand, production schedules, and optimize the overall warehouse and logistics resource utilization accordingly.
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Associates degree and 8 + years multi-functional experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, and Operation Excellence/LEAN OR a bachelor's degree or master's degree and 6+ years multi-functional experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, and Operation Excellence/LEAN.
Demonstrated VACC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach) skills leading teams and multi-functional team collaboration.
Leading with purpose, driving inclusion, respecting differences, and showing up as authentic best self.
Strong understanding of the regulatory arena involving GMP, OSHA, DEA, DOT, EPA, and Bayer standards are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $111,360.00 - $167,040.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
