Job Summary
The Warehouse Team Lead is a "working lead" responsible for guiding a team of Warehouse Associates to meet daily goals for safety, quality, and production. You will assign daily tasks, train employees, and ensure orders are shipped accurately and on time. You will also perform all warehouse duties alongside your team, including operating forklifts, picking orders, and loading trucks.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Team Leadership & Workflow
Lead a team of average 4-5 associates, providing coaching, training, and guidance on the floor.
Assign daily tasks and organize the team's workflow to meet shipping deadlines.
Monitor the team's work to ensure orders are picked and packed accurately.
Train new hires and cross-train current employees on all job duties and safety procedures.
Report team progress, problems, or delays to the Shift Supervisor.
Hands-On Warehouse Operations
Work alongside the team, filling in to help with picking, packing, shipping, and receiving as needed.
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move materials.
Help load and unload trailers and put away incoming stock.
Use RF scanners to track inventory and orders.
Safety & Quality
Ensure the team follows all company safety rules and OSHA regulations at all times.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or incidents immediately.
Perform quality checks to make sure orders are accurate and free from damage.
Inventory & Administration
Assist with inventory control and regular cycle counts.
Complete daily paperwork, like shipping logs or team productivity reports.
What You Need (Qualifications):
Required (Must-Haves):
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing setting.
year of experience in a lead role (training, guiding a team, or acting as a lead).
Ability to read, write, and understand English and do basic math.
Basic computer skills (for email and data entry).
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Preferred (Nice-to-Haves):
Current Forklift Certification.
Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or RF scanners.
OSHA 10-Hour Certification.
Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for the entire shift (8+ hours).
Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs regularly.
Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures (hot and cold) and moderate noise levels.
