Job Purpose
The Warehouse In-Charge is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations while acting as the primary operational support to the Factory Manager. The role ensures smooth coordination between Warehouse, Production, Quality, and Logistics to achieve production targets, maintain inventory accuracy, optimize workforce utilization, and ensure uninterrupted factory operations.
The incumbent serves as the second-in-command for the Thermoforming and Extrusion operations and assumes responsibility for supervising day-to-day factory activities in the absence of the Factory Manager, ensuring operational continuity, discipline, safety, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, material issuance, and dispatch of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist the Factory Manager in workforce planning and daily operational decision-making.
- Ensure fair allocation and proper approval of overtime in accordance with company policy.
- Monitor overall factory discipline, attendance, and workforce performance.
- Coordinate with department supervisors to resolve production bottlenecks and operational challenges.
- Support implementation of operational excellence, lean manufacturing, and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by Factory Management to ensure efficient plant operations.
- Coordinate closely with Thermoforming and Extrusion production teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability and smooth production flow.
- Plan and monitor material movement between warehouse and production to prevent production delays.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock verification, reconciliation, and cycle counts.
- Ensure timely issuance of production materials in accordance with approved production plans and work orders.
- Monitor warehouse KPIs, inventory accuracy, stock levels, and material utilization.
- Supervise warehouse personnel, forklift operators, material handlers, and support staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Allocate manpower based on production priorities and operational requirements.
- Monitor daily staff attendance, shift allocation, overtime planning, and workforce productivity.
- Ensure discipline, compliance with company policies, and adherence to operational procedures across warehouse and production support teams.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality Control, Maintenance, Procurement, and Logistics departments to resolve operational issues and improve workflow efficiency.
- Support production planning by ensuring timely availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and production consumables.
- Monitor production support activities and immediately escalate operational issues affecting production targets.
- Ensure warehouse, production support areas, and material storage locations comply with 5S, housekeeping, and safety standards.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout warehouse and production support operations.
- Prepare daily operational reports, inventory reports, manpower reports, overtime summaries, and performance updates for factory management.
- Manage ERP/WMS transactions to ensure real-time inventory visibility and accurate documentation.
- Oversee petty cash related to warehouse and factory operational requirements as authorized.
- Coordinate with transporters and logistics providers to ensure timely dispatch of finished goods and receipt of incoming materials.
- Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve operational efficiency.
- Act on behalf of the Factory Manager during planned or unplanned absences by supervising day-to-day factory operations, coordinating production activities, resolving operational issues, and ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are achieved.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Relevant technical qualification in Plastics Manufacturing will be an advantage.
Experience
- 15+ years in warehouse or inventory management and Production.
- Preferably Master Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management
