About the role:

A warehouse parts clerk is responsible for managing inventory of parts and supplies, which includes receiving, storing, and tracking items. This role involves administrative tasks like data entry and record-keeping, and hands-on duties such as stocking shelves, picking orders, and assisting customers. They also perform inventory counts, process returns and invoices and may operate equipment like forklifts.

Requirements:


Responsibilities:

  • Inventory management: Receiving, inspecting, and stocking parts and materials, often using specialized software.
  • Order fulfillment: Picking and packing parts for internal and external customers. Complete shipping of parts to external customers in a timely manner.
  • Record keeping: Maintaining accurate records of all parts transactions, including receipts and usage.
  • Customer service: Assisting technicians and other customers with parts inquiries and sales.
  • Inventory control: Performing cycle counts, physical inventories, and maintaining minimum/maximum stock levels.
  • Returns processing: Handling the return of damaged or incorrect parts and processing warranty claims.
  • Warehouse maintenance: Keeping the parts room and warehouse clean, organized, and secure. Maintaining a high level of safety within the parts room and warehouse areas.
  • Other duties: May include driving to pick up or deliver parts, operating forklifts, and other assigned tasks.

Candidate requirements:

  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate warehouse equipment like forklifts are often required.

Education

requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Some technical or vocational training is a plus.


Experience

requirements:

  • Experience with inventory control systems and customer service is beneficial.
