Web Developer

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced  Squarespace Developer & Designer  to design, develop, and manage a full-featured Squarespace website from start to finish at  The Byte Systems . The ideal candidate should have strong design skills, solid Squarespace expertise, and experience implementing  e-commerce, scheduling, online courses, and site migrations .

If the candidate does not have direct Squarespace experience, they must have prior experience building WordPress websites and be comfortable adapting to the Squarespace platform.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop a  new custom Squarespace website
• Create a modern, responsive, and user-friendly  site design
• Set up and manage an  online store  (products, payments, checkout, taxes, shipping)
• Implement advanced  site functionality  (forms, integrations, custom features)
• Configure  scheduling/booking systems  (Squarespace Scheduling or third-party tools)
• Migrate existing website content to Squarespace (pages, blog posts, products, media)
• Set up and manage  online courses or membership areas
• Provide  training and documentation  so the team can manage content independently

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a  Squarespace Developer & Designer
• Strong knowledge of Squarespace 7.1
• Experience with  e-commerce, courses, and membership sites
• Familiarity with Squarespace Scheduling and third-party integrations
• Ability to customize CSS and basic JavaScript (preferred)
• Experience with  site migration  from other platforms
• Strong UI/UX and branding sense
• Excellent communication and time-management skills
